Adding your own photos to CrewPix is fast and easy:
ANYONE can add photos - you do not have to be a member, register or log in.
You ONLY need your web browser!1. Get the photos into your computer
Scan them or use a digital camera. Many photo labs will process your photos onto disks or CD to make this easier. They can be any size, the CrewPix server will magically resize what it needs to. We recommend 800x600 or 1024x768. Photos can be JPG, GIF or PNG. JPG's are best for faster up/downloads
2. Go to the CrewPix photo gallery where you want your photo to appear.Choose from Commercials, Music Videos, Movies, People, TV Shows, Video Prints and Polaroids, Look who I worked with, Silly Shots, Cool Locations, Hell Shoots, Stunts FX and Cool Rigs, Indy Film, Student Film
3. Look for a grey box with an arrow near the top (see image below). Clicking on this will give you a menu with "add items" as one option. Click that and then use the upload form that pops up.
Your web browser will need Javascript enabled, and cannot have pop-up blockers that prevent CrewPix from opening new windows.
4. In the window that pops up, click the button labeled or to find the photo on your computer
5. Enter a detailed caption
Make sure you include everyone's first and last names, name of the shoot, company, project, location, etc. Add as much info as you can, because this is how people will search for your photos.
To start a new line in your caption enter <br>.
For example the following entry would look like this:
|
= |
John Smith and DOP Bob Jones on location
in Russia Toyota commercial |
6. Fill in your name, email and web site address.
This info will be published with the photo on CrewPix and is optional, but it's a great way to promote yourself and your website.
7. Click on the gray ADD ITEMS box at the very bottom of the screen to upload your photo. Easy.
8. Did you mess up the caption? Just Contact Us and we will fix it!
Remember, by uploading content you agree to some very reasonable legal terms and conditions which you can read here. We are able to track down people who upload inappropriate content. At the very least your Internet provider will cancel your account. At worst, we will press charges.
What sort of pictures can I upload?
CrewPix is a website for the film production community. Please upload photos that you believe would be of interest to filmmakers and crews. Make sure to check out the legal mumbo jumbo before uploading.
PLEASE be selective. Dumping your entire digicam memory card onto CrewPix is not a great idea, unless somehow every shot is a winner! People don't really want to see 3 identical shots at slightly different exposures, OK?
We monitor the photos on CrewPix very closely and regularly delete:
| innappropriate or off-topic photos, | |
| photos without captions or with useless ones | |
| photos with huge logos, watermarks or obvious ads - If you want to advertise on CrewPix, go here. | |
| photos that we don't believe the uploader owns - press-kit stills, screengrabs from broadcast TV, etc. | |
| multiple photos of the same thing |
If you have any problems, please send us a message
